I like my phone. A lot. It does everything: Keeps my contact’s information, has a calendar/scheduler, has a to-do list, lets me take notes, has the Internet/email, has a ledger, plays music/audio books, plays video, takes pictures, blah blah blah, etc etc. Oh yeah, it calls people too. I’ve taken a lot of notes with it. I don’t want to lose any of those notes. It has quite a large to-do list that I need to, guess what, do. I don’t want to lose that list. It has 200 contacts: names, phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, birthdays, etc. I don’t want to lose that contact list. Or rather, I didn’t. So today I decided to synchronize everything on my phone with my computer, so that if I ever lost or dropped my phone off the MGM Grand, it wouldn’t be that big of a deal, because I had the backup on the computer, right? So I proceeded with the backup. Everything was fine; the software had installed and so I plugged the phone into the computer. Well, you already know what happened next, and I do admit, there is some degree of ironic humor in the fact that while attempting to backup the data on my phone, my practical life, and prevent it from being lost in the future, it was indeed, lost. My computer deleted my calendar, to-do list, 200 beloved contacts, everything. So just keep in mind the reason I haven’t called you lately is because I “lost your number” and I mean it this time.
